The Look of The Pierre
In 2009, The Pierre underwent a massive, $100 million renovation. Rooms and suites are spacious and feature panoramic city and/or park views, comfortable beds, incredible bathtubs, and luxe amenities like plush linens, super-soft robes, and slippers. The main restaurant, Perrine, serves seasonally inspired dishes in an elegant setting (think classic French-American cuisine and aromatically spiced Indian specialties). (Meanwhile, Two E Bar and Lounge offers no-cover, no-reservation live jazz music Tuesdays through Fridays, bespoke cocktails afternoon tea service, and delicious bites in a relaxed yet chic ambiance.
The iconic Rotunda was redesigned in 2016 and features Old World-inspired murals, a dazzling chandelier, a beautiful ceiling painted to mimic a clear-blue sky, marble stairs, stone walls, and romantic lighting to give the space an intimate vibe. Immerse yourself in the timeless tradition of afternoon tea, now available from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on both Fridays and Saturdays. Indulge in an exquisite selection of fine teas, delicate pastries, and savory delights, ideal for an intimate gathering or a serene afternoon respite.
The Vibe at The Pierre
Here, it's all about the (unparalleled level of) service. As soon as we walked in, the doorman greeted us outside, opened our car door, and immediately whisked our luggage away as he walked us to the reception desk. From there, we were immediately offered water bottles, a cold towel, and chocolate. As we entered the lobby, we noticed that the demographic definitely skewed older (think smartly dressed women and jacket-wearing men in their late-50s and 60s). If you love people-watching, consider splurging and partaking in the property's signature acclaimed afternoon tea service, which includes light bites, tea (of course,) and, for an upcharge, champagne.
Who Will Love The Pierre
Well-heeled travelers and architectural enthusiasts will certainly appreciate a stay here. Those with the taste of the finer things in life will also enjoy the guest rooms, upscale restaurant, and the ritzy locale (steps from the city's most expensive designer shops like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Saks, and Bergdorf Goodman). If you're looking to splurge, consider reserving the property's signature Park Suite. Located on the 28th floor, this 1,100-square-foot suite features an incredible view of Central Park and is complete with an en-suite bath and deep soaking tub; a sprawling sitting and dining area; a pantry kitchen; and a fireplace.
Who May Not Love The Pierre
While the hotel might be a nice respite for business travelers, it does not have a box chain feel. Additionally, travelers looking to explore more under-the-radar, trendy neighborhoods may feel the property's location is too touristy.

All bath amenities are by the luxury fashion house, Etro. From the bath salts to the shampoo to the moisturizing body milk, the products definitely added a luxurious touch. Also, each guest room is equipped with a shower and a bathtub: a rarity in NYC.

The 5 Av/59 St. subway stop is about a three-minute walk from the property.
Nearest Airport to The Pierre
The Pierre is about a half-hour by car from LaGuardia International Airport (excluding rush hour). While JFK International Airport and Newark International Airport are a bit further (about 40 minutes away), they're linked to the NYC subway system. LaGuardia and JFK are also serviced by the New York Express Bus; take the bus to Grand Central and expect a 12-minute subway ride (or 10 minutes by taxi or ride-share) from there.
